Thanks to YOU, the FTEF has celebrated many successes over the last several years.

 

  

2015-2016

Annual Dance

The theme for this year's Annual Dance was "Live from Fort Thomas, It's Saturday Night!"  This year, the sell out crowd raised a grand total of $64,706.

Capital Campaign

We Did it!!  After 10 years and nearly $10,000,000 raised by YOU, the Campaign for Highlands is complete.  

Endowment Fund

This year, we were able to make our largest annual contribution to the Endowment, bringing us almost 1/2 way to our 1,000,000 goal.

Foundation Club

The FTEF Foundation Club was one of the first fundraisers for the FTEF.  The Foundation Club raised $54,077 this year.

Teacher Grants

The annual Grant Patrol surprised 10 FTIS teachers by fulfilling their grant requests.  This year, the FTEF, in partnership with the FTIS, was able to fully fund all submitted requests- to a tune of more than $72,000!  Recipients included:

  • Video cameras for the Broadcasting and Filmmaking at HHS.

  • Linguameeting software for AP Spanish students at HHS.

  • 3D printer, software and equipment for Robotics, Engineering, CAD and manufacturing courses at HHS.

  • Digital Cameras for expanded photography unit at HMS.

  • New curriculum and materials for STEM Lab at HMS.

  • New instruments for HMS and HHS Band.

  • Violins and Violas of a proper size for HMS and HHS Strings Program.

  • Additional CINSAM materials (Center for Integrated Science and Math) for Johnson, Moyer and Woodfill Elementary School.

  • Sewing machines and loons for new Fiber Arts Studio at Johnson,Moyer and Woodfill Elementary Schools.

  • 3D printer for Makerspace program expansion at Johnson Elementary School.  

 

2014-2015

Annual Appeal

Our Annual Appeal raised more than $16,000 this year, with gifts from 85 generous families.  The average family contribution to the 2014-2015 annual appeal was almost $200.

 

Annual Dance

Once again, the annual dance proved to be a big fundraiser.  For the first time ever, the silent auction went online and was the most successful yet, raising more than $12,000.

 

Capital Campaign

Contributions to the Capital Campaign alowed us to give more than $500,000 to the Campaign for Highlands project in 2014-2015.  The FTEF hosted the Highlands' Centennial Celebration at the Hall of Mirrors to celebrate the 100th Birthday of the Highlands' campus and the upcoming renovaton completion.  The evening was oure singel-biggest fundraiser ever, raising $350,00 in one night.  

 

Foundation Club

The 2014-2015 Foundation Club was another sellout.  Thanks to membership fees and our generous sponsors, we raised a little more than $45,000.

 

Teachar Grants

This year, the FTEF was able to award nearly half of all requested items with the money donataed by you.

 

Checks totaling $25,146 were distributed for the following items:

  • 25 iPads for students at Johnson, Moyer and Woodfill elementary schools.

  • iPad Minis for the theater programs at HMS and HHS.

  • New chimes for the HMS and HHS bands.

  • New viola and cellos for the HMS and HHS strings programs.

2013-2014

Annual Appeal

Each year, we ask for you to give to the Annual Appeal in an effort to raise as much money as we can for our schools.  This year you stepped up and gave over $32,000.  You Rock!!!

 

Annual Dance

2014 marked the 11th annual FTEF dance with the theme "Mad Hatter" and raised $51,995.  For the first time, FTEF featured a LUCKY DUCK raffle and the winner won their pick of any item within the Silent Auction.  Congratulations Nick and Karen Gates!  This fresh idea for 2014 was a great success, giving guests some added excitement and raising some money for our kids.

 

Capital Campaign

In January, we celebrated the completion of Phase 3 of the Campaign for Highlands, which inculded updates to the South Academic Building.  For the first time in decades, all Highlands High School students are attending class in state-of-the-art facilities designed to provide the optimal learning environment.

 

Foundation Club

Cheering on the Birds and supporting our schools-what a winning combination!  Last year our Foundation Club memberships SOLD OUT! Membership revenue for 2013-2014 totaled $45,832.

 

Teacher Grants

In 2014, the FTEF AWARDED $27,000 in DISTRICT WIDE GRANTS:

 

  • Partial funding for the STEM Lab at Highlands Middle School.  A student-directed, computer based program for bioengineering, engineering rowers, vehicle design, mobile app design, package design and robotics.

  • EV3 robotics software and Lego packs for Gifted and Talented Program students and the Robotics teams.

  • Point-of-sale system for the new student-run bookstore at Highlands High School.

  • Glaze-making station and supplies for ceramics for HMS and HHS.

  • Expansion of the iPad Pilot Program at Moyer and Johnson Elementary Schools and the 3rd grade at Woodfill Elementary School.
