Fund Raising Activities

Annual Appeal

  • Campaign begins in the Fall.
  • A donation mailer is sent to all previous Foundation donors and the Fort Thomas community.
  • Information is included in the Fall edition of Traditions.
  • Contributions are tax deductible.
  • In 2010, the Appeal raised over $18,000 to help fund the teacher grants, endowment fund and educational needs that exceed the District's operating budget.

Employee Giving

  • An annual opportunity for District employees to donate a one-time gift or choose a monthly payroll deduction.
  • The employees of the Fort Thomas Independent Schools have donated over $70,000 through this program since 2007.

1891 Society

  • A society honoring those people who have remembered the Foundation in their estate planning.
  • Gifting can be done through a will, trust, insurance policy memorial or gift agreement.
  • 1891 was the year of the first graduation class from Highlands High School. 
  • Process requires basic legal services and can be easily completed in a short amount of time.
  • Money can be allocated to the endowment fund, Capital Campaign or teacher grants program.

Annual FTEF Dance

  • The annual dance will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 - Save the date! 
  • The theme changes annually, and attendees are encouraged to dress up to coordinate with the theme.
  • Corporate donations compose the majority of funds raised.
  • Money raised helps fund the teacher grants, endowment fund and educational needs that exceed the District's operating budget.

Capital Campaign

  • Campaign started in 2004.
  • Over $7.6 million raised in private donations and matching grants.
  • Phase 1 completed in May 2009 and included state-of-the-art science labs, two new computer labs, a special education suite, performing arts center, black box theater, mass communication suite, adminstrative suite, family comsumer science area, counseling suite, wireless media center, art studio, 100% handicap accessibility and more!
  • Phase II fundraising is in full swing. This Phase of the will renovate the academic south campus (the old middle school). Laura Hinegardner is the Capital Campaign Chairperson.

Endowment

  • The long term goal of the Foundation is to amass an endowment fund whose interest income can be used to support the Foundation.
  • This fund helps to secure the long term viability of the Foundation.
  • Once this fund reachers $250,000, its interest can be used to support some of the goals of the Foundation. 

Foundation Tailgate Club

  • Birds' eye view of football games on the covered porch with heaters.
  • Reserved VIP covered parking.
  • Private entrance to the games.
  • Tailgate food before and during home seasonal and playoff games.
  • Flat screen TV's for viewing other sporting events simultaneously during the football games.
  • Membership fee is tax deductible. 
  • In 2010, the club raised over $48,000 to help fund the teacher grants, endowment fund and educational needs that exceed the District's operating budget.
